SPRING 2010

March 20th brings the official start of spring and it is something that we have been looking forward to. Hopefully spring will bring some much-needed warmer days and evenings so the plant material will start to grow again. It will also be a time to take a look at our gardens and see what we need to replace. With the cold winter we had, many plants and trees will be lost. In most cases you will find more cold damage the further you are from the coast. Our more inland clients saw the harshest weather and temperatures. Just as the produce markets are seeing an increase in vegetable prices we too are experiencing that within the ornamental market, and we are seeing a lack of plant availability. Please be patient as we are scouring the state for the best plants at the best possible prices. If you are looking for advice on a certain plant or want to makeover a specific area please feel free to call on our specialists at Hazeltine Nurseries. We would love to help you get that garden back into tiptop shape. Planting now will give you the summer growing season for your new plants and allow for establishment before next winter arrives. Looking forward to warmer days and a great spring for everyone,
